Flat Point Solids are designed for use on large and dangerous game where the very deepest penetration is required.

How They Work

Flat Point Solids are designed for heavy and dangerous game situations where the deepest penetration is required and the ability to be able to smash through heavy bone to reach the vitals is critical. The monolithic non-expanding construction ensures the deepest straight line penetration needed for the toughest animals. They will not deform on contact with game.

Design Features

Construction – Flat Point Solds are lathe turned on high precision Swiss style CNC machines to ensure ultimate tolerances. The are cut from high quality copper bar stock, and are uniform throughout for consistent performance.

Meplat – The meplat is a flat point with slight radius on the edge with a carefully constructed nose angle, to ensure the deepest penetration.

Driving Bands – 'Smart Band Technology' utilises multiple thin driving bands. These not only ensure a positive gas tight seal with virtually no barrel fouling, but also reduce chamber pressure by effectively halving the bearing surface, to reduce frction.

Range of Weights – Flat Point Solids come in a range of calibres from .308 to .510 and are available in different weights within most available calibres.

Note: Because these projectiles are of monolithic construction (solid copper), they are longer than pure lead core projectiles of the same weight. As such, they may require a faster twist than the same weight lead core projectile. Please check the Technical Data Sheet to ensure that the projectiles you are interested in are compatible with your rifle's barrel twist rate.
