Subsonic Raptors
These projectiles are designed for hunting with subsonic cartridges, such as .300 Whisper and .300 Blackout. They are designed to provide superior terminal performance on game at subsonic velocities. The nose section fractures into four blades that radiate outwards, creating four secondary wound channels, while the base section provides deep straight-line penetration. In order to function reliably at subsonic velocities, the Subsonic Raptors are manufactured with side slits and a slight undercut at the base of the blades.
Currently, these projectiles are only offered in .308 calibre, in three different weights, but more calibres may be offered in the future. All require a minimum rate of twist of 1 in 8", so may not be suitable for use in all rifles (e.g. in subsonic loads for .308 Winchester, as rifles in this chambering usually has 1 in 10" twists or slower).
Note: Because these projectiles are solid copper, they are considerably longer than lead core projectiles of the same weight. As such, they will likely require a faster twist than the same weight lead core projectile. Please check the Technical Data Sheet to ensure that the projectiles you are interested in are compatible with your rifle's barrel twist rate.
