MTAC (Match / Tactical)
The MTAC (Match / Tactical) projectiles are designed purely for target shooting and have solid meplats. The are not suitable for hunting as they do not expand at all.
Some MTAC projectiles are offered in both Standard and Max Configurations. The Standard configuration is designed so that the COAL will fit in standard rifle magazines.
The Max configuration is designed for maximum speed by increased case capacity, with the SealTite Band much further towards the base of the projectile. This allows the projectile to stick out of the case much further than the standard STD projectiles. A Bore Rider was added to prevent the projectile from contacting the lands and aids in making sure the projectile is centred in the bore.
These projectiles are for custom single shot rifle owners or for the individual that is willing to single feed their rifles as typically, magazines will not accept the COAL that the Max version creates. In many instances, if a round is chambered but not fired, the bolt must be removed to extract the loaded cartridge because of the long COAL.
These projectiles should be seated with the SealTite Band just in front of the case mouth, but not in the case neck.
Note: Because these projectiles are solid copper, they are considerably longer than lead core projectiles of the same weight. As such, they will likely require a faster twist than the same weight lead core projectile. Please check the Technical Data Sheet to ensure that the projectiles you are interested in are compatible with your rifle's barrel twist rate.
